Tellwell CEO Tim Lindsay Releases ‘The Call to Authorship’ for Aspiring Nonfiction Writers

Tim Lindsay, founder and CEO of Tellwell Publishing, officially released his new book, The Call to Authorship: How and Why to Write, Publish and Promote a Nonfiction Book, on November 5, 2025, at the Empowered Author Summit. The event brought together over 20 speakers and 800 aspiring and published authors committed to sharing their stories and making a meaningful impact through books.

“A book is more than a product to earn royalties—it’s a way of being of service, a process of becoming, and for some a powerful business tool. Most people want to write a book some day, but most never do. This book is my way of helping others navigate that process with clarity,” said Lindsay.

Tim Lindsay hosted live, in-person workshops entitled 10 Steps to Turn Life Lessons Into a Book, teaching some of the practical lessons from the book.

In the week following the release, Lindsay hosted a series of live, in-person workshops where he taught key strategies from the book, helping participants define their “why,” outline their book concepts, and map out their publishing and promotion journeys using a one-page tool called the Call to Authorship Plan. These sessions created a collaborative space for authors to apply the book’s tools in real time, supported by a community of peers and expert guidance.

The Call to Authorship walks nonfiction authors through a 10-step journey across four stages—Plan, Write, Publish, and Promote. It draws on Lindsay’s years of experience guiding thousands of authors at Tellwell and offers a blend of strategic insight, practical tools, and inspiration for anyone ready to write with purpose.

Tim Lindsay and his book coach Michelle Bish hold an advance review copy of The Call to Authorship at the Word on the Street literary festival prior to the book’s official launch.

Behind any book is a collaborative effort. Lindsay acknowledges the Tellwell team who brought this project to life: Michelle Bish, book coach; Simon Ogden, editor; Alyza Alenton, Shaira Villamor, and Simon Page, project management; Jamie Jamandre Trani, cover consultation; Von Langoyan, design; Joy Comendador, distribution; Junmark Vertudazo, printing; Ben St. James, marketing; Mark Mionda and Vlad Veraksa, author website; and Jennifer Chapin, for contributing her story of working with parolees.

“Literacy 1.0 is being able to read and write. Literacy 2.0 is having the audacity to participate—to share, to help others through words and stories. It’s about finding your voice and using it,” said Lindsay.

The book also serves as a portal to the Call to Authorship Resource Hub, which offers planning templates, curated resources, video content, plus an online, community-powered course launching in December.

The Call to Authorship is available now in paperback, hardcover, and ebook formats.
